Chandigarh hosts final promo run for Sekhon IAF Marathon
A final promotional run for the Sekhon IAF Marathon was held at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh on Sunday. The event included physical fitness sessions and the ceremonial unveiling of the marathon T-shirt.
Air Commodore Deepak Panth, Air Officer Commanding of 12 Wing, stated that the marathon is organized to honor Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon. Sekhon was a recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest wartime gallantry award, and is recognized for his defense of the Srinagar Airbase during the 1971 war.
The main marathon event is scheduled for October 4. Officials have urged local residents and fitness enthusiasts to register for the upcoming milestone event.
