Bermuda Championship: Smotherman and Power share lead

Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power are tied for the lead at 16-under par heading into the final round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal. Smotherman secured his position with a 66, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 seventh, while Power climbed into a tie after a four-under 67 in challenging, windy conditions.

Earlier in the tournament, PGA Tour rookies Kensei Hirata and Chandler Blanchet shared the lead at 13-under after the second round. Blanchet’s performance was marked by two eagles, including a 50-foot putt on the 17th hole. Other notable contenders include Taylor Moore, Corey Conners, and Ben Silverman, who remain within striking distance of the leaders.

The tournament has seen significant weather shifts, with wind serving as a primary defense for the course. The 36-hole cut was set at 5-under par, resulting in several notable players, including defending champion Adam Schenk, missing the weekend action.
