Chandra Kumar Bose to launch Azad Hind Party

Chandra Kumar Bose, the grandnephew of nationalist leader Subhas Chandra Bose, has announced plans to launch a new political organization called the Azad Hind Party. Following his resignation from the Trinamool Congress, Bose stated that the party will be built upon the inclusive and secular ideology of his great-uncle, Netaji.

Bose cited recent youth-led protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy as an inspiration for the new outfit. He expressed that the youth are increasingly frustrated with systemic corruption in education, health, and industry, noting that the spirit of the younger generation mirrors the activism seen decades ago.

As India approaches its 80th Independence Day in 2026, the legacy of Subhas Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army (INA) remains a significant part of the national discourse. Bose’s historical approach to independence involved seeking international military support to challenge British rule through armed struggle, a method that differed from other prominent leaders of the era.
