Chandrashekhar Azad: Court issues non-bailable warrant and property attachment order

A special MP-MLA court in Ghaziabad has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Chandrashekhar Azad, the Member of Parliament from Nagina and President of the Azad Samaj Party. The court has also ordered the attachment of his property.

The legal action stems from a 2018 case registered at the Sahibabad police station involving allegations of assault and verbal abuse during a wedding ceremony. The complainant, Dharmendra Kumar, alleged that Azad and his supporters engaged in physical violence and issued death threats after questions were raised regarding weapons present at the event.

The court issued the warrant following the complainant's counsel's argument that Azad had repeatedly failed to appear for hearings despite previous warrants being issued. While the legal proceedings are ongoing, the court's order for property attachment follows protocols for individuals declared absconding in criminal proceedings.
