Chandrashekhar Azad demands halt to electoral roll revisions
Azad Samaj Party National President Chandrashekhar Azad has called for an immediate halt to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and a freeze on the digital voter list. Azad alleges widespread discrepancies and manipulation in voter registration, citing data from Mirapur in Muzaffarnagar where he claims some individuals had between 24 and 40 votes registered in their names.
Azad raised concerns regarding the transparency of the electoral process, specifically questioning the use of Form 6 for voter inclusion and the performance of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He alleged that the SIR process is being used to delete votes on a large scale.
These allegations coincide with political mobilization by the INDIA Bloc, including a planned symbolic public impeachment event against the Chief Election Commissioner on October 30 and a 'Chalo Dilli' march organized by Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi scheduled for November 1.
