Chanel Culture Fund announces second Arts & Culture Magazine
The Chanel Culture Fund has announced the release of the second volume of its Arts & Culture Magazine, scheduled for launch on October 23 to coincide with Art Basel Paris. The 300-page publication features artist Cindy Sherman on the cover, styled in Chanel tweed.
The magazine will be distributed free of charge through 33 independent bookstores and specialized shops across 22 countries, including locations in Hong Kong, Mexico City, London, and Paris. Notable content includes original handwritten lyrics by Patti Smith, an essay by Andrew Durbin regarding the legacy of Peggy Guggenheim, and a discussion on theatrical storytelling featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and National Theatre director Indhu Rubasingham.
Yana Peel, president of arts, culture and heritage at Chanel, stated that the magazine serves as a trace of the fund’s practice of cultivating care for artists and new ideas. The release aligns with current exhibitions, including Sherman’s “Fabric Matrons” series at the Hauser & Wirth gallery in London.
