Chanel expands retail footprint with new boutiques in Vancouver and San Diego

Chanel is expanding its physical retail footprint with the opening of new freestanding boutiques designed by longtime collaborator Peter Marino.

In Vancouver, the House has opened a new boutique at Oakridge Park. This location marks Chanel’s first freestanding address in Western Canada and represents its largest presence in the city to date. The 750-square-meter space features materials such as white marble, black lava stone, and gilded accents.

In the United States, Chanel is opening a 16,000-square-foot freestanding boutique at the Westfield University Town Center in San Diego. Designed by Marino, the building incorporates a central courtyard and large glass expanses to create an indoor-outdoor aesthetic inspired by California architecture. This location will house fashion, watches, jewelry, fragrance, and beauty products.

Beyond retail expansion, Chanel is maintaining long-term environmental commitments, including a target to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its full value chain by 2040. The company aims to halve scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
