Chanel leads luxury resale searches according to The RealReal
Chanel has emerged as the most-searched brand on the luxury resale platform The RealReal, according to the company’s 2026 Resale Report. The surge in interest is largely attributed to the impact of creative director Matthieu Blazy, whose name saw a search volume increase of 10,967% over the previous year.
Other notable increases in designer searches include Sarah Burton of Givenchy (243%) and Jonathan Anderson of Dior (158%). The top five most-searched brands on the platform include Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, and Miu Miu. Additionally, Saint Laurent and Hermès have returned to the top ten list.
The report highlights a significant shift toward vintage and decade-specific fashion. Demand for items aged 15 years or more has increased by 432% since 2020. Gen Z consumers are specifically driving interest in Y2K aesthetics, with searches for 1990s and 2000s fashion rising by 65% and 93%, respectively. The report also notes that the growth of the secondary luxury market is outpacing the primary high-end market by two to three times.
