Chang Li electric vehicle tested by YouTuber in the US

A YouTuber based in Utah, HeavyDSparks, recently purchased the Chang Li, which is marketed as the world’s cheapest new electric vehicle from China. Priced at approximately $3,800, the vehicle arrived significantly smaller in person than it appeared in promotional photographs.

While the YouTuber noted that the vehicle felt solid and well-built, he observed that its performance was limited, comparing its utility to that of a golf cart. To test its capabilities, he attempted to modify the car by adding two generators to increase its range and test acceleration.

Despite its low cost, the vehicle does not currently meet the necessary standards for legal use in the United States. Delivery personnel noted that significant modifications, including a larger motor, would be required to bring the vehicle up to American regulatory standards.
