Nagoya Asian Games: Zhu Yuanling wins skateboarding gold
At the Nagoya Asian Games, young athletes from China and Taiwan have achieved notable results in skateboarding and athletics.
Chinese skateboarder Zhu Yuanling, 15, secured her first international gold medal in the women’s street skateboarding final with a score of 166.57. Her performance included a high-scoring third round of 79.73 and a second-round big trick score of 86.84.
In track and field, Taiwan’s Chang Po-ya finished fourth in the women’s 100m hurdles final with a time of 13.17 seconds, missing the bronze medal by just 0.05 seconds. Chang, who had previously dealt with a serious waist injury in August, noted that the pressure of high expectations and a mid-race collision with a hurdle disrupted her rhythm. The bronze medal was won by China’s Wu Yanni (13.12), while Japan’s Maako Fukube took gold (12.74) and Hitomi Nakajima took silver (12.78).
