Chang Tung-run announces marriage to actress Kim Seung-yoon

Director and actor Chang Tung-run has announced his marriage to actress Kim Seung-yoon, scheduled for October. The couple, who have been dating for several years, first worked together in 2019 on the series ‘Joseon Romantic Comedy: Mung Bean Transmission’.

Following the announcement, controversy has emerged regarding the crowdfunding for Chang’s first feature film, ‘Makgeolli’. In late 2023, the project raised approximately 26.35 million KRW via the Funderful platform for promotional expenses. Some fans expressed frustration upon learning the funds were used to promote a film starring Chang’s partner, suggesting the investment was effectively used to support his personal relationship.

Chang has clarified that he personally funded the production of the film. The movie was released on April 15 and earned approximately 53.57 million KRW at the box office.
