Chang Yi-hao issues safety and clean election statements

Chang Yi-hao, a former secretary to former Zhubei Mayor Cheng Chao-fang and a candidate for Zhubei City Councilor, has released a video statement addressing personal safety and election integrity. In the video, Chang issued a “no suicide statement,” asserting that he is in good health and lacks chronic or mental illnesses. He detailed various safety precautions he will take regarding traffic, home safety, and hazardous environments to reassure supporters who have expressed concerns for his well-being.

Additionally, Chang issued a “clean election statement,” pledging that he will not engage in vote-buying or accept improper benefits. He committed to reporting any instances of bribery or illegal electoral activities to maintain a fair voting environment.

In response to the statements, Kuomintang Hsinchu County mayoral candidate Hsu Hsin-ying stated that civil servants should not be humiliated or persecuted and called for judicial authorities to investigate past procurement controversies in Zhubei City without political bias. Hsu also urged security agencies to protect individuals who come forward to expose corruption.
