Changan District Harvest Festival celebrates indigenous culture in Keelung

The Changan District Harvest Festival commenced on the morning of the 15th at the Changan Community basketball court in Qidu, Keelung. The event featured traditional blessing ceremonies designed to showcase the rich cultural heritage and spirit of unity within indigenous communities.

Keelung Deputy Mayor Chiu Pei-lin attended the festivities on behalf of Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang. During the event, Chiu noted that Keelung is home to 10,468 indigenous residents. She emphasized the city government's commitment to securing increased welfare resources and infrastructure, such as indigenous community centers, to support cultural development.

The festival included various traditional activities and dance performances aimed at fostering cultural identity among younger generations and ensuring the preservation of ancestral traditions.
