Changhua County advances heritage restoration and transit infrastructure
In Changhua County, Taiwan, several major local development projects have reached significant milestones. The county government has commenced a NT$236 million restoration project for the Nan-guo Dormitory complex, a collection of century-old Japanese-style official residences. Following a blessing ceremony, the project aims to preserve these historical structures and transform the site into the ‘Nan-guo Youth Entrepreneurship Base’ to support local creative talent.
Additionally, the Erlin Transit Station has officially opened to improve public transportation in the southwestern region of the county. Funded by both the central government and the county, the station integrates 14 bus routes, including local, highway, and national routes, providing enhanced connectivity for residents traveling to Taipei and other major hubs. The facility includes commercial spaces and plans for local markets to serve as a community hub.
These initiatives represent ongoing efforts by the Changhua County Government to balance cultural heritage preservation with modern infrastructure and economic revitalization.
