Changhua County launches Life Park cremation facility

The Changhua County government held a groundbreaking ceremony on 28 April for the "Changhua Life Park," a new cremation complex that will end the county’s decades‑long lack of a local funeral‑service site. County magistrate Wang Huimei announced that the park will cover 1.9 ha, include ten modern cremators and be able to handle up to 60 bodies a day, serving the county’s 1.2 million residents.

The first‑phase construction budget totals about NT$7.0 billion, with the building phase expected to last roughly 420 days. Design features separate pathways for families and staff, green‑belt screening, and advanced air‑pollution controls to address noise and environmental concerns. Local officials praised the project’s role in providing dignified, on‑site cremation services and improving the region’s death‑care infrastructure.
