Changhua leaders push for major infrastructure and urban development

Political activity in Changhua is intensifying as local leaders focus on major infrastructure and upcoming elections. Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei recently met with Premier Cho Jung-tai alongside legislators from multiple parties to discuss critical regional developments, including the Changhua MRT network, urban planning expansions, and specific zone projects. Following the meeting, the Premier instructed relevant ministries to establish a single window to expedite the review of Changhua’s construction plans within one month.

Simultaneously, Changhua mayoral candidate Chen Wen-bin held a campaign headquarters launch event, drawing over 5,000 attendees. Chen, a former chairman of the City Representative Council, emphasized his 20 years of local experience and pledged to prioritize the third comprehensive review of Changhua City’s urban planning. His platform focuses on coordinating major projects such as railway elevation, the extension of the Taichung MRT to Changhua, and the development of the Changhua interchange zone.

Wang Hui-mei’s recent political moves have drawn public scrutiny; her social media posts mentioning legislator Chen Su-yueh led to online speculation regarding political transitions. Wang responded to such commentary by stating she is focused on doing what is right and beneficial for Changhua.
