Changsha Tourism Development Conference opens in Hunan

The fifth Changsha Tourism Development Conference opened on September 29 in Changsha County, Hunan Province. The event aims to establish Changsha as a leading destination for ‘micro-vacations’ by showcasing diverse tourism sectors.

Key themes for the conference include red-themed study tours, ecological wellness tourism, rural leisure, intelligent manufacturing, and convention and exhibition tourism. Changsha County is focusing on four strategic pillars: red culture, green ecology, intelligent manufacturing, and openness to drive integrated regional development.

Featured tourism routes connect various sites, such as the Bancang Resort, Dashali village community, and Chen Shuxiang red tourism resources, alongside industrial sites like GAC Aion and the Minghe Industrial Park. The conference, now in its fifth consecutive year, follows a period of significant growth for the city; in 2025, Changsha saw both tourist arrivals and total tourism spending double compared to 2021 levels, with inbound tourist spending rising by over 40 percent year-on-year.
