Chania Chamber of Commerce proposes 11 measures for SMEs

The Chania Chamber of Commerce has submitted a package of 11 institutional economic proposals aimed at ensuring the sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and increasing local market liquidity.

The proposed measures include:

• Establishing a minimum 9-year duration for commercial leases and an automatic three-year extension for existing leases. • Implementing a universal 120-installment regulation for all tax and social security debts. • Creating a legislative framework to protect professional premises and primary residences from forced execution. • Creating an unseizable bank account for SMEs to cover proven operating expenses and payroll. • Eliminating the obligation for income tax advances for both natural and legal persons. • Exempting retail trade from presumptive taxation to align tax burdens with actual financial capacity.
