Chania Coast Guard officer rescues woman from sea

A Coast Guard officer performed a life-saving rescue in the waters of Kom Kapis, Chania, on September 8, 2026. Dimitris Gerolimos, a Coast Guard member and Vice President of the Crete Coast Guard Union, entered the sea around 19:25 to assist a foreign woman who was in danger under difficult maritime conditions.
