Chania Film Festival explores disability and sexuality

The 14th Chania Film Festival hosted a discussion regarding the sexuality of people with disabilities, prompted by the screening of the documentary ‘The Stuff We Are Made Of’. Directed by Siamak Etemadi, the film follows its protagonists over a five-year period, documenting their relationships and their needs for human contact, intimacy, and desire.

Etemadi noted that the film is not primarily about disability, but rather about love through the lens of disability. Co-producer Andriana Theohari stated that the film is part of an organized social impact campaign intended to challenge stereotypes and promote inclusion. The event in Chania included participation from individuals with disabilities and featured a discussion aimed at fostering public dialogue on these sensitive social issues.
