Chantz Rivera walks across the United States from New York to San Francisco

Chantz Rivera, a 29-year-old from the Bronx, is nearing the completion of a cross-country trek on foot from New York to San Francisco. Having departed in late May, Rivera has been walking approximately 15 to 30 miles per day for over 140 days.

Rivera, who previously worked as a dishwasher in New York, began the journey to break his routine and experience the world more deeply. Throughout the trip, he has documented his progress on social media, gaining a significant following on TikTok. He has encountered various challenges, including storms in Colorado, but has also received support from strangers offering food, lodging, and supplies.

As of mid-October, Rivera has reached the California border and is approximately 80 miles from his final destination. He aims to reach the Pacific coast before Halloween.
