Chao Chien-ming divorce settlement details emerge

Details have emerged regarding the divorce settlement between Chao Chien-ming and Chen Hsing-yu, daughter of former President Chen Shui-bian. The focus of the dispute involves a 23 million TWD education fund intended for their three sons.

Chen Hsing-yu stated that Chao has been making frequent calls to their youngest son, a departure from his previous behavior. Regarding the distribution of the funds, Chen noted that Chao’s approach to the specific amounts for each son has been inconsistent and lacks precision. While Chao reportedly told his sons he would return the full 23 million TWD regardless of the details, Chen expressed concern regarding whether the funds had been lost through investments.

In a separate social media post, a fortune teller named Lin Qian drew parallels between his own childhood trauma and the situation, describing how his father’s behavior during a divorce—involving infidelity and the withdrawal of funds—mirrored the reported actions in the Chao-Chen case.
