Chaosium bans AI use in community content following removals
Chaosium has removed more than 40 publications from its community content programs after identifying signs of artificial intelligence usage. The publisher has issued a broad statement reinforcing a zero-tolerance policy, stating that AI must not participate in any stage of the creation process for fan-published materials.
The prohibition covers the entire production workflow, including idea generation, writing, reviewing, art, layout, and promotional text. The policy specifically advises creators to disable generative features integrated into editing software, such as Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini, to prevent tools from rewriting an author's voice.
This update affects independent authors who publish materials based on Chaosium properties through platforms like DriveThruRPG.
