Chapecó to receive R$ 7.4 million emergency escape area on SC-480

A new 455-meter emergency escape area will be constructed on the SC-480 highway in Chapecó, Santa Catarina. The project is located at km 164 in the Goio-Ên area, near the bridge over the Uruguay River on the border between Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

Following a completed bidding process, Construtora Oliveira has been selected to execute the work. The project requires an investment of R$ 7.4 million. The structure is designed to assist heavy vehicles, such as trucks and trailers, experiencing brake failures during descents. The design includes a 315-meter asphalt approach lane with white and red checkered markings, a 125-meter clay pit to decelerate vehicles, and a 15-meter section for vehicle recovery.

Once the contract is signed and the service order is issued, the construction is expected to take seven months to complete.
