Chapecoense tops Santa Catarina fan survey while battling relegation in Brazil's Serie A

A recent poll by Neokemp Pesquisas of 1,008 residents in Santa Catarina found that 14.6% of respondents officially support Chapecoense, giving the club the largest declared fan base among state teams. The survey also showed that 25.5% of participants believe Chapecoense has the biggest following in the state, ahead of Avaí and Criciúma. Nearly half of those surveyed said they do not support any local club, favoring teams from other regions.

At the same time, Chapecoense is struggling in the national league. The team sits at the bottom of Brazil's Serie A with ten points from 20 matches, twelve points away from safety. Their upcoming round‑22 fixture against mid‑table side Coritiba at Estádio Major Antonio Couto Pereira is seen as a crucial chance to earn points and move away from the relegation zone.
