Char Dham Yatra resumes in Uttarakhand after weather improves
The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand has resumed following a two-day suspension caused by adverse weather conditions and heavy rainfall. Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swarup announced the resumption on Monday morning after weather forecasts showed improvement.
While the pilgrimage is back in operation, authorities have emphasized that pilgrim safety remains the highest priority. District Magistrates have been granted the authority to temporarily halt the yatra again if they encounter road blockages, extreme rainfall, or other unfavorable local conditions. The administration continues to monitor weather patterns and route stability closely.
In a related development, emergency teams including the SDRF, NDRF, and DDRF successfully rescued approximately 1,500 pilgrims who had been stranded near Chirbasa on the Kedarnath route following a landslide late Sunday night. The rescued individuals were escorted to Gaurikund.
