Charente-Maritime prepares for autumn weather and culinary festivals
The Charente-Maritime region is preparing for a seasonal transition marked by both weather changes and cultural festivities.
Weather forecasts indicate that stormy showers will arrive in the department starting the night of Sunday to Monday. While temperatures will initially remain mild, a shift toward autumnal weather is expected by Thursday, October 1, bringing rain, storms, and a significant drop in temperatures to between 20 and 22 °C.
In Angoulême, the arrival of autumn is being celebrated through culinary events. The 32nd edition of the Gastronomades festival is scheduled for November 27–29, 2026, featuring prominent figures such as pastry chef Nina Métayer and former Elysée kitchen chef Guillaume Gomez. Additionally, the 'Food Aventura' program offers guided gastronomic walks through the historic streets of Angoulême.
