Charitable donations of prison materials support social welfare and rehabilitation

In Uruguay, the Ministry of Justice and Peace has donated electrical materials removed from various prisons to the Asociación Obras del Espíritu Santo, led by Father Sergio Valverde. The donation includes nearly 300,000 kilograms of cable, along with various outlets, breakers, and switches. These materials were originally removed from correctional facilities to improve internal discipline and control. The association will either reuse the components or sell them as scrap to fund social welfare projects for children, youth, and the elderly.

In Spain, the Cofradía de la Santa Caridad of Toledo has donated sports equipment, books, and musical instruments to the Ocaña I Penitentiary Center. Supported by entities such as the LALIGA Foundation, the donation includes footballs, guitars, and books intended to promote coexistence, learning, and personal development among inmates as part of the prison pastoral work of the Archdiocese of Toledo.
