Charitable donations support pediatric departments in Italy

Various charitable initiatives in Italy have provided support to pediatric departments through donations of both educational materials and advanced medical technology.

In Livorno, the “Dona il sorriso” initiative collected pens, pencils, notebooks, books, drawing albums, and small games to improve the daily experience of young patients at the hospital's transfusion center. The drive involved local associations, students, and citizens to foster a culture of giving.

In Bari, a volunteer association led by Nicola Figliuolo donated a state-of-the-art portable ultrasound machine to the Pediatrics and Neonatology department at San Paolo Hospital. The device allows clinicians to perform evaluations directly at the bedside and assists in making procedures, such as inserting needles and catheters, less invasive for children.
