Charitable groups give winter kits, meals to homeless in Argentina

The Rotary Club Ezpeleta distributed 100 winter kits—including blankets, jackets, trousers and shoes—to people sleeping rough in Bernal, Quilmes, on the night of 27 July. The effort is part of the club’s ongoing "Un abrigo al corazón" programme, which aims to supply heavy clothing to vulnerable residents during the cold season.

At the same time, Argentine heavy‑metal band Tamadre turned the launch of its new song into a street‑level charity operation in Rosario. Band members prepared hot rice‑with‑chicken meals and handed them out to those on the streets. Guitarist and vocalist Hernán Altamirano explained the decision: “We decided we couldn’t spend so much money on a high‑budget video when people today don’t even have a warm plate of food.” Both initiatives reflect local groups mobilising to address homelessness and winter hardship.
