Charitable initiatives and ethical gifting emerge in France

In Dijon, the Secours populaire de Côte-d’Or is organizing a large-scale solidarity sale at the Salle Camille Claudel on November 3 and 4, 2026. The event will feature twenty palettes of new goods, including toys, Christmas decorations, household linen, kitchenware, clothing, and baby equipment, offered at reduced prices. The initiative aims to provide affordable options for families facing rising living costs while raising funds to support the association’s holiday programs for isolated individuals and families in need.

In Paris, the cooperative éthi’Kdo and its subsidiary Kadoresto are promoting ethical gift alternatives to support the social and solidarity economy. Kadoresto offers gift cards specifically for eco-responsible restaurants, selecting partners based on criteria such as local and seasonal products, organic or plant-based options, and food waste reduction. Additionally, the éthi’Kdo card provides access to a network of 2,500 partner businesses focusing on sustainable practices like zero waste, fair trade, and local production.
