Charity and solidarity initiatives organized in Cremona and Perugia

Various Italian organizations and institutions are hosting events focused on charity, solidarity, and the spirit of giving.

At the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore campus in Cremona, the ‘Settimana del Dono’ (Week of Giving) is being held until October 9. Organized in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, the initiative aims to foster relationships based on sharing, trust, and fraternity among students and the wider university community. The event highlights the importance of gratitude and the commitment to giving back to others as part of the educational experience.

In Perugia, a conference titled ‘Carità e volontariato’ (Charity and Volunteering) is scheduled for October 17 at Casa Sacro Cuore. Promoted by several associations, including the Movimento per la Vita and the Unione Giuristi Cattolici Italiani, the meeting explores the distinction between mechanical volunteerism and the deeper motivation of selfless love. The program includes discussions on the iconography of charity and practical workshops for participating associations.
