Charity concert in La Serena supports students hit by severe weather in Chile

Fundación Chile Violines, together with the Servicio Local de Educación Pública (SLEP) Elqui, organized a free concert titled “Tres Décadas en Cuatro Cuerdas” performed by the Cuarteto Boros. The event took place on Saturday, 8 August, at the Teatro Jorge Peña Hen in La Serena. Attendees were invited to donate non‑perishable food, personal hygiene items and pet food, which will be distributed to families of students from rural schools in the SLEP Elqui territory that were affected by a recent frontal weather system in the Coquimbo Region.

Carolina Ramírez Campos, president of Fundación Chile Violines, highlighted the role of music in fostering community solidarity, while Pedro Esparza Olivares, executive director of SLEP Elqui, stressed the importance of collective support for the families struggling after the severe weather event.
