Charity endurance challenges launched in the UK
Several charity endurance challenges are being undertaken in the United Kingdom to support various causes.
A group of six friends, including former Army members, successfully summited Mont Blanc. The 4,810-metre climb was organized to raise funds for Wooden Spoon, a rugby-affiliated children’s charity that supports young people with disabilities or those facing disadvantages across the UK and Ireland.
In a separate initiative, former Welsh rugby international Paul Thorburn is leading a nine-person team on the ‘Paddle, Peak and Pedal’ challenge. Starting August 20, 2026, the 12-day event involves kayaking along the Welsh coastline, climbing Snowdon, and cycling 150 miles. The team aims to raise £50,000 for the MND Association and Prostate Cymru to support research and care for motor neurone disease and prostate cancer.
