Charity events in Brazil support elderly care and social assistance

Various charitable initiatives in Brazil are organizing community events to fund social assistance programs.

In Paranaguá, the Lar dos Idosos Perseverança is hosting its fourth annual “Sabadou com Churrascada” event on Saturday, the 12th. Tickets for the barbecue, which includes meat, rice, mayonnaise, farofa, and vinaigrette, are priced at R$ 50.00. The funds raised will support daily operating expenses and specific improvements for the institution, which currently cares for 70 elderly residents.

In Lafaiete, the Grupo Só Amor is organizing a “Feijoada Beneficente” on September 13th. The event features food, live music, and bingo, with tickets priced at R$ 30.00. The proceeds will support the group’s social work, which has operated for over 13 years. The organization provides meals to people experiencing homelessness, supports patients in health units, conducts clothing and food drives, and lends mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers to those in need.
