Charity initiatives launch to collect Christmas aid for Eastern Europe

Multiple charitable campaigns in Germany are organizing the collection of aid packages to support vulnerable populations in Eastern Europe.

The Johanniter-Weihnachtstrucker initiative is calling for donations of food and hygiene products from November 14 to December 11. The project aims to support children, families, the elderly, and individuals living alone in Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine, as well as within Germany. Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and rising costs for basic necessities, the organization emphasizes the importance of solidarity. Donors can also participate through virtual package packing via the organization's website.

Additionally, the Round-Table-Familie is conducting the Weihnachtspäckchenkonvoi campaign. This initiative collects gifts, new or like-new toys, clothing, stationery, and hygiene products for children in rural and remote areas of Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Ukraine. In the districts of Südliche Weinstraße and Germersheim, collection points are available for schools, businesses, and private individuals to drop off donations through mid-November.
