Charity programmes aid children and families in Dunaújváros

Two local charitable initiatives are supporting children and families in Dunaújváros and its surroundings at the end of August. The Útkeresés Segítő Szolgálat will hold its traditional game festival on August 25, offering free entertainment for children and running a school‑supply collection to help low‑income families prepare for the new school year. Organizer Libor Ágnes Mészárosné said the event aims to combine fun with community support.

The Rógós Út Jótékonysági Egyesület will host a family day on August 29‑30 at the Szalki Island camping site, providing clown shows, bubble parties, trampolines, music, karaoke and communal cooking. President Magda Szabó highlighted that the day will also gather donations and school‑supply contributions for families in need. Deputy mayor Endre Barta, responsible for social affairs, emphasized the city’s role in coordinating and supporting such civil‑society efforts.
