Vietnam celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival with cultural events and charity

Vietnam is celebrating the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival through various community, cultural, and charitable initiatives. General Secretary and President To Lam issued a letter to children both domestically and abroad, expressing affection and encouraging them to study hard and preserve national values.

Cultural festivities are widespread, including a musical production titled ‘Land of Moonlight’ on VTV, traditional performances at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, and lantern festivals in Quang Ninh and Lang Son. In Japan, the Vietnamese community in Sakai organized celebrations to help young Vietnamese residents maintain their cultural roots and language.

Charitable efforts have focused on vulnerable groups, with programs providing gifts and joy to children in remote border areas like Thanh Hoa, children with disabilities in Ho Chi Minh City, and patients in hospitals. These activities aim to ensure that children, regardless of their circumstances, can experience the traditional joy of the festival.
