Charity races scheduled in Murcia and Elche to fund cancer research

Two solidarity sporting events are scheduled in Spain to support cancer research and awareness.

In Murcia, the XI Murcia en Marcha contra el Cáncer will take place on November 8. Organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer in the Region of Murcia with the Murcia City Council, the event includes 5 km and 10 km races, as well as a 5 km popular walk. Proceeds will fund two research projects at the Murcian Institute for Biosanitary Research (IMIB). Specifically, the funds will support María José Menchón, who studies treatment resistance in leukemia and multiple myeloma, and Sofía Oliveira, who researches colorectal cancer to improve immunotherapy responses.

In Elche, the XXII Carrera y Marcha contra el Cáncer de Mama, organized by AMACMEC, is set for November 22. The event, which expects over 9,000 participants, features a 10 km race and a 5 km walk starting from Paseo de la Estación. The initiative is supported by the Elche City Council to promote solidarity and hope for those fighting breast cancer.
