Charity Run in Ciudad Victoria Raises Funds for Athlete Jorge Azúa's Heart Treatment

A fundraising race called “Corriendo por Jorge Azúa” will be held on 12 September in the Parque Recreativo Siglo XXI in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. The event aims to collect money for a cardiac ablation to treat Jorge Azúa, a well‑known Polo’s Team athlete who suffers from flutter auricular, a heart‑rhythm disorder that can lead to serious complications.

Participants can choose among a 5‑km race, a 3‑km family walk/run and a 1‑km kids’ run. Registration costs 220 pesos and includes a bib, commemorative medal, hydration, fruit and a participant kit, subject to availability. The first‑place finishers in each distance will receive prizes. Registrations are accepted by phone (834 126 4778) or by bank transfer to a Banorte account in Azúa’s name. Organizers urge the community to join the effort, noting that each entry helps fund the medical treatment and improve Azúa’s quality of life.
