Charity runs organized to support oncology services in Brazil and Portugal

Charity running events are being organized in Brazil and Portugal to support oncology services and research.

In São José do Rio Preto, Brazil, the second edition of the Vida e Movimento race is scheduled for September 20. The event features 5 km and 10 km courses, as well as walking and kids' categories. All proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Oncology sector of the Hospital da Criança e Maternidade (HCM), a national reference for childhood cancer treatment.

In Porto, Portugal, the Instituto Português de Oncologia (IPO Porto) will host its third annual charity run and walk on October 4. The event aims to attract 7,000 participants. Registration fees will be directed entirely to the Dr. Guimarães dos Santos Research Grant to fund oncology research projects at CI-IPO Porto. The initiative also seeks to promote healthy lifestyles as a means of cancer prevention.
