Charity treks and pilgrimages underway across Ireland
Two distinct charity and pilgrimage journeys are currently taking place across Ireland.
Michael Keegan, a farmer from Wicklow, is conducting a 690km ‘Miles of Hope’ charity tractor run from Mizen Head to Malin Head. Driving a restored Deutz D40L tractor previously owned by his grandfather, Keegan is raising funds and awareness for suicide prevention charities Pieta and 3TS. The journey highlights the importance of mental health support within rural farming communities.
Simultaneously, the NINIWA Team is undertaking a walking expedition titled ‘Eurotrip: West Coast Ireland’. Led by Father Dominik Ochlak, the group is trekking over 420 kilometers through Irish forests, peatlands, and moors. The expedition, which began on August 24 and is scheduled to conclude on September 15, relies on hitchhiking and the hospitality of locals for transport and accommodation.
