Charleroi Former Corelle Glass Plant Put Up for Sale

The former Corelle Brands glassmaking plant in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, which closed in April 2025 after Anchor Hocking moved production to Lancaster, Ohio, has been listed for sale by California‑based GA Group Real Estate. The 26‑acre riverfront site on the Monongahela River retains its glass‑making infrastructure, including furnaces and a 110,000‑square‑foot warehouse, and is being marketed as a “premier heavy industrial riverfront property.” GA Group will accept formal purchase offers through August 13, has not disclosed an asking price and expects a highly competitive, market‑driven process. Senior Vice President Chris Draper said the company “let[s] the market determine the site’s final value.”

The plant had served as Charleroi’s economic engine for more than 130 years; its closure eliminated about 300 jobs and was followed by the shutdown of a local food‑processing and pasta‑making firm, costing roughly 350 additional jobs. A previous deal in which French glassmaker Sediver would have purchased and refurbished the site for $125 million was blocked by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, leaving the property idle and the community seeking new industrial tenants.
