Charles Barkley has reaffirmed his intention to retire from broadcasting following the upcoming season. The former NBA MVP stated that he is “looking forward to this last year” and plans to “take a step back from public life” once his current commitment concludes.

Barkley noted that his decision aligns with a two-year commitment made to co-host Ernie Johnson, intended to ensure the stability of the “Inside the NBA” production and its staff. While Barkley has previously flirted with retirement and extended his tenure with TNT Sports, he has expressed a sense of finality regarding this upcoming departure.

Despite his plans to exit the media spotlight, Barkley indicated he would maintain a connection to Auburn University.
