Charles Hoskinson denies retirement rumors and reaffirms his role at Cardano

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has publicly rejected circulating claims that he is resigning or retiring from the project. In a video posted this week, Hoskinson called the reports “complete lies” and said they originated from edited clips and out‑of‑context content spread by influencers. He urged supporters to share the video to correct the misinformation.

Hoskinson highlighted that he remains fully engaged with Input Output Global and listed several upcoming initiatives, including the Leios scaling upgrade, continued development of the partner‑chains model, the RealFi testnet moving toward mainnet, and the Pogen project that aims to bring Bitcoin DeFi capabilities to Cardano. He also mentioned broader roadmap items such as upcoming hard forks and a political‑party initiative.

The denial comes amid a challenging period for Cardano: the cryptocurrency’s price is near multi‑year lows, governance disputes have led EMURGO to exit the Pentad board after a wallet exploit, and investor Justin Bons publicly called for Hoskinson’s departure. Hoskinson’s statement seeks to stabilize confidence in the network and its development roadmap.
