Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc described the Canadian Grand Prix qualifying at Montreal as "the worst weekend of my career" and a "nightmare" after failing to find any usable pace from his Ferrari SF‑26. He qualified eighth, complaining that the tyres and brakes were constantly out of the optimal window and that he felt "like I was going to put it into the wall" in every corner. Team‑mate Lewis Hamilton qualified fifth, four tenths faster in Q3, highlighting the performance gap.

Leclerc had recovered to fifth in the Saturday sprint race but was hampered by traffic and a fast Oscar Piastri. With rain forecast for the Sunday race, he hopes wet conditions might level the field, while Ferrari will analyse the tyre and brake issues that have plagued the weekend.
