Charles Leclerc discusses discipline and personal growth
Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc has shared insights into his personal philosophy regarding discipline, instinct, and the concept of limits. In recent interviews, the Monegasque driver emphasized that his primary goal is to continue moving forward in the right direction across all aspects of his life, including racing.
Leclerc described the relationship between creativity and discipline, noting that while creativity is driven by instinct, discipline is rooted in preparation. He addressed the idea of hitting a “limit,” suggesting it is less dramatic than perceived by outsiders; for him, it is simply an attempt to do the best possible with what is under his control. He noted that once a person believes they have performed optimally, that is often the moment they must push further into areas that previously seemed like boundaries.
Beyond racing, Leclerc highlighted his diverse interests and business ventures, including a gelato brand, musical collaborations, a limited edition whisky with Chivas Regal, and a strategy board game. When dealing with errors, he advocates for a calm approach, suggesting that sleeping on a mistake allows for a more objective analysis of facts and data the following day.
