Charles Leclerc overhauls Ferrari steering‑wheel software for first time since 2019

Charles Leclerc has implemented a comprehensive redesign of the steering‑wheel software in his Ferrari SF‑26, marking the first major change since he joined the team in 2019. The update follows his victory at the British Grand Prix and takes advantage of the new 2026 technical regulations.

The new layout moves most data fields into small boxes on the left side of the display, freeing the centre of the screen for real‑time tyre and brake temperature read‑outs. A vertical bar on the right now shows the status of the MGU‑K, rising when the unit supplies energy and turning red when it is in harvest mode. An additional progressive turbo indicator assists the driver during launch phases, and a five‑dot boost meter signals remaining boost duration.

Ferrari allows its drivers considerable freedom to customise the wheel interface, and Leclerc’s overhaul replaces the block‑style layout used since his debut, aiming to optimise energy management and overall competitiveness under the stricter 2026 rules.
