Charles Spencer to release new book about Princess Diana

Charles Spencer is releasing a new book, ‘Canto del cigno. Diana, mia sorella’ (Swan Song. Diana, My Sister), which offers a personal and familial perspective on the life of his late sister, Diana, Princess of Wales. Unlike traditional biographies, the work aims to provide a private voice to the Princess, moving beyond the public interpretations and media scrutiny that followed her death in 1997.

The book covers their shared life and concludes with the dramatic week following her passing. It seeks to portray the person behind the public icon, focusing on details outside the typical narratives of the British monarchy and her marriage to the current King. The Italian edition is scheduled for release on September 22, 2026.

This announcement comes as historical reflections continue regarding the relationship between Charles and Diana. Their marriage, once viewed as a global fairy tale following their 1981 wedding, eventually ended in a formal divorce in 1996, a period that significantly altered the trajectory of the British monarchy.
