Charleston Classic announces six-team basketball field

The 2026 Rays Children's Charleston Classic will feature a new format this season, moving away from a traditional bracket to pre-set matchups. The six-team field includes Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, Dayton, and Utah.

On Friday, Nov. 20, the matchups include Oklahoma State vs. Minnesota, Northwestern vs. Virginia Tech, and Dayton vs. Utah. On Sunday, Nov. 22, the schedule features Dayton vs. Northwestern, Virginia Tech vs. Oklahoma State, and Utah vs. Minnesota.

Oklahoma State enters the tournament following a 20-win season under head coach Steve Lutz. Virginia Tech, led by returning forward Amani Hansberry, will face Northwestern, a program that has made the NCAA Tournament in both 2023 and 2024.
